How to Clean Your Babyliss Clippers?
The build-up of dirt, oil and hair on your clippers will damage them which will require you to replace them often. Moreover, there are high chances of you getting shaving injuries from them.
Before you begin, switch off the power button of your clipper. In case it is mains operated, unplug and disconnect the power cable. After this, you can start the actual cleaning process by following any of these simple methods-
Use any stiff brush for brushing your clippers clean. You can use a clean toothbrush that you have lying around for this purpose. However, if you want the best results then you can buy speciality micro-brushes, which are made for this specific purpose. Barbers and stylist suppliers usually stock products like these.
When you have your brush, just gently drag it back and forth on the clippers to remove all traces of hair.
Use Soap and Water
If you have used your clippers for a light shave, you can give it a rubdown in soapy water to get it clean. There are two ways of doing this. You can make a solution by mixing a dollop of dish soap in a bowl of water. Then dunk the blades of the clipper in it and move it back and forth till all the debris is gone. After that gently pat the blades with a cotton ball or clean cloth.
You can also put the soap directly on the clipper blades and run it under warm water. The next step will be to gently wipe the blades with a cloth.
Disinfect with Alcohol
Soaking the blades of your clippers in 70% isopropyl alcohol will keep them clean as well as get rid of bacteria. Take a cup and fill it with alcohol and water in approximately 3:1 ratio. Then submerge your clipper blade into the solution for a minute or so. The hair and dirt will immediately slide off into the solution.
After a minute, get it out and wipe it to dry it and remove the excess solution.
